Older Travelers Ignore Potential Scam Risks

Americans love to travel, and adults 50 and older are no exception.

In fact, this group represents a large segment of the leisure travel population.

That could be a mistake.

Fraud can occur before the trip even begins.

And yet, just 39% of travelers report being concerned about scams while booking travel.

Adults 50 and older are even less likely than younger travelers to say that they are concerned.

Even fewer travelers are apprehensive about being scammed during their trip.

Methodology

This online survey of 1,000 adults age 18+ was fielded February 411, 2019 using AARPs online panel.
