Prior to joining AARP, Keenan spent a year abroad where she was a visiting research associate.
She also worked for an English-language news service, developing country briefs for entrepreneurs and business investors.
Before that, she served as an Assistant Professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Keenan has a Ph.D. in sociology from Cornell University.
