The trips themselves often last a week or two, but Ella sticks around Paris for several months.

How did that affect the story?

Most rom-coms take place over a weekend or a couple of weeks.

By the end, its like, Oh, well be together forever.

It would have been a disservice to cram that into a couple of weeks.

Did you find yourself resonating with Ellas journey?

Ella has been existing as expected for so long.

Its almost like the Snow White moment of waking up and being like, Oh, Ive been asleep.

There are lots of ways in our real life that we [do that].

I can relate to that in several areas in my personal life.

Is that something youre consciously seeking out?

I count the cost, and I really have to love the project.

Im excited that Hallmark is making strides to bring in a new, younger crowd.

Im super proud and happy to be part of that.

These movies run around 90 minutes, whereasOne Tree Hillran for nearly 200 episodes.

How does that change how you approach a love story?

You have to feel the same amount of care for your characters, no matter where you are.

Do you have a unified method for these roles?

Your Hallmark heroines often share a certain charm and sense of humor.

Im glad theres a charisma to the characters that people seem to enjoy.

Thats the fun juggling act.
